MYGDA provides outpatient mental health services for adults, including individual therapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management. Services can include therapy alone, medication management alone, or a combination of both, depending on your needs and goals.

MYGDA works with adults (ages 18+) seeking support for mental health concerns, life stressors, or personal growth. We serve individuals from diverse backgrounds and welcome clients at all stages of their mental health journey.

Our clinicians are skilled in addressing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, ADHD, substance abuse, stress, burnout, and relationship challenges. Your first appointment will include a comprehensive evaluation to better understand your symptoms, clarify diagnoses, and confirm that MYGDA’s services are the right fit for your needs and goals. If additional or different care is recommended, we will help guide you toward appropriate next steps.

Our behavioral health program is designed for people who can be safely supported in an outpatient setting. It may not be the right fit for individuals currently experiencing severe or urgent symptoms – such as active suicidal thoughts or behaviors, psychosis, mania, or other concerns that require a higher level of care.

If you are in a crisis or feel that you may need more immediate support, please reach out to emergency services (911), a local crisis line (988), or go to the nearest emergency department.

Our goal is to make accessing care as easy as possible! You can schedule your first appointment by going to our Schedule Your Session page, selecting the type or care you would like (therapy or medication management), and selecting a date and time that works for your schedule. Once you attend your first appointment, your provider will help you schedule follow-up visits as needed. If you would like to speak with someone to schedule, you can contact our office directly by calling (708) 498-4364.

Your first appointment at MYGDA is a 60-minute evaluation with your provider. During this session, your provider will take the time to get to know you, learn about your current concerns, review your personal and mental health history, and discuss your goals for care. If you’re seeing a psychiatrist, this evaluation may also include a review of past and current medications. The purpose of this session is to understand your needs and determine the best plan for your treatment moving forward.

Once you complete your initial appointment, your provider will discuss their recommendations with you and help you schedule ongoing sessions. Follow-up visits are scheduled based on your treatment plan and preferences. Therapy sessions are often scheduled weekly or biweekly, while medication follow-ups are typically less frequent (usually every 1-3 months). Your provider will work with you to find a schedule that feels supportive and manageable.

The length of treatment depends on your goals, preferences, and progress. Some people seek short-term support around a specific concern, while others may benefit from longer-term care. Your provider will regularly check in about your goals and adjust treatment as your needs change.

MYGDA offers both in-person and secure virtual appointments. This flexibility will allow you to choose the format that best fits your needs, schedule, and comfort level.* Our two in-person clinics are conveniently located in Oak Park, IL and Oakbrook Terrace, IL, and our telehealth services are accessed via Zoom.

Please note that certain psychiatry appointments, such as those involving medication management for controlled substances, may need to be in person.

MYGDA accepts some insurance plans and also offers a self-pay option. Coverage varies by plan and provider. See our Schedule Your Session page for an updated list of insurance plans we accept. If you have questions about payment, please contact our office at (708) 498-4364 to verify your insurance eligibility and discuss fees before your first appointment.

Yes, our providers are able to help with care-related forms such as school or work accommodations, disability paperwork, and other documentation. Because many forms require time and coordination outside of regular appointments, there is a separate fee for this service. To make sure we complete everything accurately and thoughtfully, this service is available for established patients who are actively receiving care at MYGDA.
